Peak Season Already!-2023
The truffles have been coming in thick and fast since just before Winter Solstice.
This season's harvest is currently far better than the past two years which were severely reduced by warm weather or rainfall.
Picture, results of four hunts on Friday, including one by torchlight, cleaned Saturday morning just in time for Farm Gate Sales and Monday's postage
Truffles for courier will be harvested Mon/Tues.
There's more ground to cover too, with several hunting sessions planned
Sunday morning is too wet, so now Monday and Tuesday, more if required.
Fully ripe truffle performs the best of all, and lasts longest in the fridge too, but timing is far more critical for it's harvest, a day or three past and it does not survive.
